Built for tourists planning a trip in 2026. ## Key facts - Nationwide JR Pass (ordinary) price until 30 September 2026: 7-day 50,000 yen, 14-day 80,000 yen, 21-day 100,000 yen. - From 1 October 2026 the price rises to 7-day 53,000 yen, 14-day 84,000 yen, 21-day 105,000 yen. The increase applies to passes bought through overseas travel agents on or after that date. - The JR Pass covers most JR trains nationwide including the Tokaido, Sanyo, Tohoku, Hokuriku, Joetsu and Kyushu Shinkansen, but NOT the Nozomi and Mizuho services (Hikari and Sakura are covered, or pay a supplement for Nozomi since 2023). - Rough break-even: a Tokyo to Kyoto or Osaka round trip plus one more long trip (Hiroshima, Kanazawa, Sendai) is usually the point where a 7-day pass starts to pay off. - Short trips concentrated in the Kanto or Kansai area alone almost never justify the nationwide pass; a regional pass is cheaper. - All calculation runs client-side; nothing entered is uploaded. ## Links - Tool: https://jr-pass-worth-it.vercel.app/ - Japan trip budget estimator: https://japan-trip-cost.vercel.app - Japan clothing & shoe size converter: https://japan-size-converter.vercel.app - Your name in Japanese (katakana): https://katakana-name-converter.vercel.app - Books on Japan & Okinawa (Kindle): https://zukeran-author.vercel.app
